Group Therapy & Peer Support for Addiction
Recovery is easier when you are not alone.
What is Group Therapy & Peer Support?
Group therapy brings a small number of people with similar struggles together with a therapist. Hearing others, sharing safely and practising skills together reduces isolation and builds hope.
How it helps in addiction
- Feel less alone and less ashamed
- Learn from others’ coping strategies
- Practise communication and refusal skills
- Build accountability and a support network
What a session looks like
Groups are small and confidential. Members agree ground rules such as privacy and respect. Sessions mix discussion, skills practice and check-ins. Groups are arranged by enquiry, so please ask the clinic about current groups, including online ones.
Who it suits
- People who feel isolated or ashamed
- Those in early recovery or aftercare
- People who want regular accountability
